Round 4 of the Danish Nationals was held in Greve (known from Nordic 2009). The day before had been quite windy, and a Truggy race was held as well, so the track was just perfect and dust-free for the Buggy race.
During the qualifiers, Team XRAY had some problems finding the right tires and the temperature was getting hot and grip increased. We all ended up using Pro Circuit sweet shot Green.
In the first semi, Peter Harder got into a good pace and he changed his starting position 3 to a final position 2. In second semi I started on pole and XRAY driver Claus Nielsen was 3rd on the grid. I got a good start and won the semi-final, while Claus kept his 3rd position.
Three XRAY drivers bumped up into the main final, Claus Nielsen started at position 5, Peter Harder started 4th, and I was on pole position. We all used XRAY/Novarossi/ProCircuit.
The final started, and like in the semi, I got a good start. After 10-15 minutes I had a comfortable lead over 2nd position Peter Harder. Unfortunately Claus Nielsen had some flame-outs.
I started to make some small mistakes, which reduced my lead a little, but I managed to find a good pace again (I actually beat the lap record twice ). About 10 minutes before finishing I increased the excitement while crashing in front of a sleeping marshal, and Peter was now right behind. When we went for our last refuel, Peter's engine flamed out, and I could secure the victory.
